Heyhey INROCKERS, and Welcome to the Lobby for the month of march ! It's been a crazy month for me ! You may have read in last month's column about the newest member of my family, well, our newborn daughter Hana is now safely in the house, so needless to say its been quite an adjustment to our lifestyle, and it sure does make it a little harder to leave town to make rock music. But there is no rest in sight because goo goo dolls are on the move once again !

We just played a crazy event in Arizona with Slightly Stoopid and Will I Am of the Black eyed peas. It was a concert to coincide with a PGA golf tournament in Scottsdale, at an event called The Birds Nest which is essentially a bunch of liquored up golf and music fans going wild in a huge tent in the desert, pretty cool. I'm not sure if I saw Japanese golf star Ryokun San anywhere backstage, (or any other folders for that matter), but it was a ton of fun and we had a blast making music for everyone there!

The next weekend we headed to Disney Land in California to entertain a large group of Intel employees for the launch of one of their new products. Man, they actually rented Disney Land, the guests of the party had free reign on an empty park full of Disney rides and attractions, a full 3d fireworks display and a Goo Goo Dolls concert right in front of "it's a small world" ... Pretty amazing, like a dream you would have when you were a kid ! I've included a picture from the event, and I have to say this was a great one. Even left with the gift of a new laptop to take back home with me ... Sometimes I really love this job ...

I also am involved with an artist named I Am Angelo in Buffalo, NY, producing some songs for him at my studio GCR Audio. We're doing an album collaborating with a variety of musicians and artists to complete an EP over the next few months. We had the pleasure of working with bassist Jerry Livingston and guitarist Kenny Hawkins of the original Stone City Band (The band behind legendary Buffalo Funk pioneer Rick James), I've included a picture from the sessions. Dave Mellilo of ''Cute is What We Aim For'' and ''Nocturnal Me'' is also working on some tracks for the album, it should be a cool project when it's all finished up, I'll try to keep you in the loop !

My Good Charamel Records label is about to put out 6 new releases from Japanese bands LAZYgunsBRISKY, MOLICE, TsuShiMaMiRe, the legendary Shonen Knife and newly signed Good Charamel artist Tricot. Shonen Knife will be back touring the US in June/July and the label will again be actively spreading some awesome Japanese music in North America.

I'm now spending some time in Los Angeles writing music with the Goo Goo Dolls as we ready for our next 2012 release and then we will see another relentless touring schedule begin, like I said, it's a little bit harder to face with a little princess in my house. But, that's just the way it goes when you make rock music for a living!

We'll be taking a visit to Japan with the family in May and as always we'd love to take you along for the trip here through In Rock Magazine! Thanks so much to all of you who sent well wishes for little Hana and you can reach me anytime through the web at robbyslobby.com !

All The Best. Peace

Robby
