The Goo Goo Dolls, U2, and possibly Alanis Morissette and Peter Gabriel are among the artists contributing songs to the remake of the 1987 German film Wings of Desire, called City of Angels. The movie is due April 14 via Warner Bros., and the soundtrack is due March 31 on Reprise.

So far, the two tracks that look to be confirmed for the sountrack are the Goo Goo Dolls' mid-tempo "Iris," which includes a 20-piece string ensemble conducted and arranged by Beck's father, David Campbell, who also handled the strings for Cracker's The Golden Age; and a remix of U2's "If God Will Send His Angels" from Pop. The Morissette and Gabriel tracks (Gabriel's is called "Grieve") haven't been confirmed, according to a Reprise spokesperson.

City of Angels stars Meg Ryan, Nicholas Cage, Dennis Franz, and Andre Braugher, and is directed by Brad Silberling (Casper), with a score by Gabriel Yared (The English Patient).
