The Goo Goo Dolls have announced a seven-date tour kicking off Aug. 28 with an appearance at the Colorado State Fair. As in the past, the band has invited USA Harvest to collect non-perishable food donations for the needy at each tour stop.

More than 600,000 pounds of food has been collected by the organization at Goo Goo Dolls concerts since March 1999. Food is collected by volunteers and distributed to local soup kitchens, shelters, and other social service agencies.

The band has been on the road for nearly two years since releasing the Warner Bros. album "Dizzy Up The Girl." That set peaked at No. 15 on The Billboard 200, and spawned the Billboard Hot 100 singles "Slide" (No. 8), "Iris" (No. 9), "Black Balloon" (No. 16), and most recently "Broadway" (No. 24). The album has sold more than 3.2 million copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan.
